At the time of publishing this website there was only 13 'recorded' outbreak. The 14th case was detected a month later in May 2010, no further cases were detected or 'recorded' last year. This year however, since the first case being announced at the end of June 2011, there have been 17 outbreaks detected as at 30th August. Throughout this website and all correspondence I have emphasised the word 'recorded', this is because I have been informed of cases that veterinarians have experienced that allegedly have tested positive and never been recorded. Should these individuals wish for these cases to be exposed publicly, I will gladly include them on this website.
I have also had many cases revealed to me that were highly suspect Hendra cases that the QDPI simply failed to investigate.
When you read the "Not Detected" does NOT mean "Negative" page you will no doubt start to question how many cases have just not been recorded because they were "not detected" on ONE sample!
In the gallery below are the Epidemiology timelines of each of the recorded cases. Click each frame to view larger copy.
